City Safari Day Camp
Botanical Conservatory
Check back in the spring on information for 2011!!
The Botanical Conservatory has always been a natural oasis in the heart of the city. Our City Safari camp program will expand on that link as we explore our place in nature and the community. Each of the seven weeks is based around a different theme, such as Food and Waste, Engineering or Communications with activities, crafts and challenges designed to provide a hands-on understanding of that theme.
Each week will also feature a field trip to a natural location outside of the city limits, as well as local experts and visits to various destinations within the city itself. A snack will be provided each day, as well as lots of fresh air, exercise and fun.
Children going into grades 1st-6th in the fall are invited to participate in this fun adventure. The campers meet 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Cost is $110/week. Extended care is available from 7:00-9:00 AM and 4:00-6:00 PM, at no additional cost.
City Safari Camp is certified with CANI to receive CCDF childcare voucher dollars. Look for more details in the Park Department's Day Camp brochure or call the Botanical Conservatory at (260) 427-6445.
*I was amazed at some of the learning skills he developed socially. He hasn't hit the public school scene yet but I could see the counselors love what they do and had patience with younger age children. Sarah C.
*When you leave your children in a day care facility you want to know that the daycare providers care about your child! You don't want to just be a number. Thanks to this Camp for giving me that reassurance. Chris C.
*Miss Teresa is one of your best assets. She greets the children and parents with a smile and a “Good Morning” everyday! Kathy B.
*I liked that there was no extra charge for before and after care. C.R.
*Over the last three years we have seen the program develop and expand. As a parent, I was so pleased to see the educational component added and that you were taking advantage of local areas of interest to expose the kids to. I think what you are doing is helping to foster a desire to learn about the community around them and ultimately to create a sense of pride in their community. The kids loved riding the city bus and trolley and I think it is great that they are learning about alternate transportation available in the city. Catherine
