Plants and People
Field Trips at the Garden September-December Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays 12-4 p.m.
Schools, scouts, and daycare groups have year-round opportunities at Northeast Indiana’s botanical gardens to explore the art and science of plants. Immerse yourselves in the jungle with art students, or collect temperature and humidity readings for a biome study.
Choose among a variety of activities, depending on the age and focus of the group, including plant observations, soil dynamics, plant uses, biomes, plant identification, and flower anatomy.
Each program includes an orientation, teaching materials, and a visit to the gardens; labs also include a staff instructor.
The cost per child is $2 ($3 with lab). Teachers/leaders and a limited number of adult chaperones are admitted free. Visits last 1 to 2 hours.
Reservations must be made at least a week in advance by calling our Education Coordinator at 427-6445.
Our environmental tours meet Indiana Academic Standards.
Click here for our Group Visit Planner ~ for more information about planning a visit, plus our policies and expectations.
